TradeWinds Airlines history dates back to 1969 when Blue Bell Inc. a major manufacture of work and casual apparel, to to the air with its first cargo plane. The purpose of this air venture was to provide faster shipment between headquarters in Greensboro, North Caroline and its manufacturing plants in Puerto Rico.
